Newsletter, shop, or booking: what goes first in your bio?

You can have all three. You cannot hero all three. A decision framework for the next 30 days, not your whole career.

September 13, 20268 minLinkForge Editorial

If you make things, teach, and sell, your bio becomes a committee meeting. Committees do not convert on a phone.

Pick a 30-day hero. The others wait underneath. You are allowed to change next month without a personality crisis.

A blunt filter

Booking first if your calendar is the business (coaches, salons, photographers with dates). Money happens in conversations or deposits.

Shop first if you have a real drop, a product that matches the last five Reels, and stock. Do not hero a shop that is three print-on-demand links you forgot.

Newsletter first if the relationship is the asset (writers, analysts, local journalists) or if the offer is not ready to buy. A list is slower. It compounds.

If you are launching a cohort in 10 days, booking/waitlist wins even if you “are a newsletter person.” Seasons beat identity.

How to tell you chose wrong

After two weeks of aligned content:

  • Hero is booking, but taps go to the podcast → your videos are entertainment. Either lean into list-building or change the content, not only the button.
  • Hero is shop, but refunds and “just looking” DMs explode → the content oversold. Soften the Reel or add a fit quiz before checkout.
  • Hero is newsletter, but nobody confirms email → the magnet is vague. Name the thing they get on Friday.

Keep the URL stable

Changing domains every experiment destroys memory. Change the first button. Screenshot the old page if you are sentimental.

FAQ

Can I A/B this?

Only if you have enough taps. Otherwise you will narrate noise. One month, one hero.

What about a link titled “all my stuff”?

That is a junk drawer. If you need it, put it last and name it honestly: “archive.”

Where does LinkForge fit?

It does not choose for you. It shows which link won. Start a page when you want that mirror.
